Need: As the top retirement state in the nation, a substantial portion of patients are elderly. This program is based upon an identified need for primary care physicians to possess information specific to geriatric patients.
Target Audience: Primary care physicians who treat elderly patients.

Health Management for Older Adults is a series of five audio modules designed to target specific areas of health care in the home health care, nursing home and hospital environments. This program was produced and distributed by the University of Florida Geriatric Education Center (GEC), in cooperation with the University of Florida College of Medicine Office of Medical Informatics, the North Florida Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and the Gainesville VA Medical Center Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), May, 1998.

The following objectives are addressed for each of the five modules in the series. Upon completion of the program, the participant will be able to:

CME accreditation for Health Management for Older Adults (1) has expired as of June 30, 2000. However, the program will continue to be available at this site for the information and benefit of health professionals. Health Management for Older Adults II and Health Management for Older Adults III are still available for credit.
