Rehabilitation Following Total Hip or Knee Replacement
Weight bearing status is dependent on fixation technique
Cemented total hip allows weight bearing to tolerance with assistive device immediately after surgery (some conservative surgeons prefer partial weight bearing)
Noncemented total hip is allowed only touch down weight bearing for 6 to 8 weeks with assistive device.
