Volunteer Work

• There are many volunteer activities that the elderly can get involved in which serve a valuable function for the community
• These include
  • foster grandparent programs
  • volunteering to assist in the public school system as a classroom aid or reading tutor
  • senior companion programs which provide a small stipend to low income elderly who volunteer as part-time companions for homebound elderly
