Her doctor explained that what she was feeling was perfectly normal but that it couldn't be allowed to go on any longer, that it would start to effect her long term physical and mental health. He also suggested that she volunteer with the auxiliary at the local hospital. Dotty began taking Elavil. After about six weeks she was feeling much better and called the hospital to volunteer. Within four months Dotty reported to her doctor and her children that she felt like a new person and had even started a computer class at the community college.
