| Security Policy and Procedures |
| Emergencies | In case of an emergency or to report suspicious behavior, contact the Campus Police at 392-1111. For non-emergent problems during business hours, contact the Office of Medical Education (OME, 392-3690) or the Office of Medical Informatics (OMI, 392-6593). |

| Personal Identification |
It is the policy of the University of Florida that all students, staff, and faculty wear a picture ID badge at all times. The Office of Medical Informatics encourages compliance with this rule. |
| Room Security |
The Campus Police and Health Center staff will lock and unlock doors on a daily basis. ID cards are required to access certain areas such as the anatomy labs. Locked doors should remain closed at all times. Do not prop doors open with waste baskets or other objects. |
| Video Monitoring |
Certain high risk areas are continuously monitored with video cameras and recorders. These areas are clearly marked with decals on the doors. There is no covert or secret video monitoring. |
| Personal Passcodes | Many OMI computer systems require personal passcodes. Keep these codes secure and do not share them with others. If you feel that your code mightmight be compromised, request a new one from the Office of Medical Education. Other computer systems may require gatorlink or Shands authenticaion. |
| Testing Center (CG-28) |
There is no open access to the College of Medicine Testing Center. OMI/OME staff will unlock the doors as needed for testing and other events. The doors will not be unlocked unless a proctor/instructor is present. The Testing Center doors are to remain closed and locked at other times. The testing center and adjacent "annex" in MDL1D are under continuous video monitoring. |
| Informatics Lab (CG-37) | Students and faculty may use the computers in the outer informatics lab with help from the OMI staff. After hours access is possible with special clearance for ID card lock. At no time should the outer door to CG-37 be propped open! The inner doors must be closed and locked when OMI staff are not present. |
