Paracelsian theory
- Paracelsus opposed the four elements (earth, air, fire, water) in favor of 3 principles (sulfur--combustibility; mercury--fluidity; salt--solidity, color).
- Unlike Hippocratic/Galenic theory, which held that diseases was systemic, Paracelsus held that all disease was local.
