Fire Departments Nationally begin to respond to Emergency Medical Calls
- 1934: Columbus, Ohio begins running a Basic Life Support (BLS) squad through their fire department.
- 1959: Los Angles Fire Department initiates a BLS response and carries extrication equipment and first aid equipment on the squad.
