1. Position and clearance requirements for 2 BARCO (or equivalent)
projection systems needs to be carefully evaluated.  The approximate size
of the projected image will be 8' wide and 6' high.  Several questions
arise that need to be answered:

        a) How far down will these units hang and will they obstruct the view of the
screens.
        b) Since the size of the projected image will be relatively small, less
bulky, and expensive, projectors may be adequate,
        c) Since the high end computer platform is likely to be Silicon Graphics, it
may be desirable to have a SGI data projector on one side that could double
as a plain video projector when the need arises,
        d) If we will be projecting high resolution images from SGI workstations, we
need to ensure that an 8' x 6' projected images adequate for the audience
to see the necessary detail.

2. Given the size and the shape of the stage, I believe the optimal
configuration will be a hybrid incorporating a small podium with command
and control equipment, a stage right equipment cabinet with VCR laser disk
and document camera storage and a fully functional AV control room.  A
foldout or matching half-podium could be brought out as needed to
accommodate the document camera, traditional overhead projector, or
computer.  I think it will be important that the instructor be able to
control all aspects of the room directly from the podium or using some sort
of wireless remote control.  This control system will obviously have to be
extended into the AV control room as well.

3. Some of our recent experience with video teleconferencing has given me a
great respect for the complexities of sound systems and room acoustics.  No
amount of high tech pyrotechnics will make up for deficiencies in this
area, so I recommend we do careful planning and possibly enlist the
services of an outside expert.

4. I agree with the basic plan for placement of two remote control video
cameras that will be remote controlled from the AV control room.  Again, a
careful ..... of site analysis needs to occur.

5. I agree that the electronic white board can be portable as long as
appropriate data interface jacks are readily accessible along the perimeter
of the stage.
