White Coat Ceremony, 2006; photos.
On May 21, 2006, with more than 900 in attendance, the medical students of the class of 2008 received their white coats during a ceremony at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Family, friends and faculty alike were there to celebrate with the students in this milestone event.
The White Coat Ceremony, sponsored by the Office of Medical Alumni Affairs, marks a milestone in education of a medical student- entry into clinical medicine. Members of the Class of 2008 collectively pledged their Class Code of Ethics and donned the cloak of their future profession- the "White Coat."
