Student Expenses

The PA Program makes every effort to keep costs low for students. However, because the Program runs continuously for twenty-four months, without summers off, applicants must review their financial resources carefully, and anticipate expenses realistically.

Expenses, Budgets, and Financial Aid

Information about PA student financial aid may be found online at at the College of Medicine Office of Financial Aid.  This web page is a comprehensive guide to student financial responsibilities and resources. It includes budgets, expenses, and information on scholarships, loans, and loan repayment.

Please note that non-Florida residents may apply for Florida resident status after the first year of the Program.

You might also want to check out the Financial Aid Information Web Page. It is a comprehensive, independent guide to student financial aid. It also offers free scholarship database searches.

Information about National Health Service Corp scholarships and loan repayment programs for health professions students is available on their web site.

Working through school

During the didactic phase of the Program, the course work-load is very heavy. For this reason, students are not encouraged to take outside jobs. Since clinical rotations may occur in different cities from month to month, part-time jobs are not practical during this phase of training.
