1. Ask the patient to make a tight fist.
2. Compress both the ulnar and radial arteries.
3. Ask the patient to open the hand.
4. Release pressure on the ulnar side.
   • The hand should "pink" up in a few seconds.
5. Repeat the process for the radial artery as indicated.
