External Exam
- Inspect the outer genitalia.
- Gently palpate the labia majora and minora.
- Inspect the labia, the folds between them, and the clitoris.
- Note any redness, swelling, lesions, or discharge.
- Reassure the patient, if the exam is normal so far, say so.
