This program contains two major "modules"...quiz and review. The two modules are accessible through the main page. Both are divided into major chapters which you will cover during the course of your studies.
The quiz module contains a "practice practical" complete with images and clinical correlates to test your understanding of Medical Cell and Tissue Biology. As you take the quiz, all images are linked to larger pictures in case you are interested in seeing more of the field (or bigger picture). Just click on the image to get the bigger picture. After you have an answer marked for each question, submit your answers and await feedback. The feedback page will list all of the questions which you got correct and incorrect and will assign you a percentage score (obviously not for the course). By clicking on any of the correct or incorrect links, you will find feedback and additional pictures for most questions. In this way, you will be able to understand why you chose the wrong answer and how it would have looked if you had it right. When you are done receiving feedback, you can return to the quiz page, RESET THE QUIZ BUTTONS, and select another quiz to take. Please note that by reseting the quiz buttons, you are allowing the next person who sits down at the computer after you to see a fresh quiz without any of your answers selected. You can do this by clicking on the "reset form" button at the bottom of the quiz.
The review module contains a summary of each of the chapters in Histology and a listing of all "summary terms" cited in your syllabus. These terms are linked to a definition/explaination and have associated pictures for clarification.
As you study Histology, this program may be useful for you to review before and after lab sessions where you look at the "real thing" with your microscope. All of the images in this program came from your slide box, so the images should look very similar to your own. Additionally, the quiz can be taken as a "pre-test" review to determine which chapters or topics should be re-reviewed during your last few days before the Histology practical.
Please note that this program is intended to complement your other resources and by no means should be your primary study aid. Please take advantage of the lab sessions, textbook, faculty, teaching assistants, and most importantly, each other to successfully master this material. Good luck.
