A 34 year old hospitalized female patient presents to the clinic with chills, fever, and abdominal tenderness. She has extreme abdominal pain. Physical exam reveals that she is tachycardic with localized abdominal tenderness on palpation. She is recovering from an appendectomy.

Labs: Gram negative rods found on anaerobic blood agar plates containing kanamycin and vancomycin cultured from stool sample.
