A 12 year old girl with cystic fibrosis presents with pneumonia that is causing tachypnea and respiratory problems. She has chills, cough, and pleuritic pain. She is feverish. Wheezing and rales are heard bilaterally. Labs: Gram negative rods found on MacConkey's agar. These organisms are non-lactose fermenting and are oxidase positive. There is a blue-green pigment on ordinary agar and fruity aroma.
