ANS E 8 - Clinical Echocardiography Elective - Shands OR

COURSE GOALS:
1. An introduction to echocardiography, particularly via the transesophageal route.
2. Experience with interpretation of echocardiograms, with emphasis on intraoperative use.
3. Experience with placement and manipulation of transesophageal echo probes to obtain desired images for a complete examination.
4. Students will be expected to attend daily conferences and seminars.

COURSE MATERIALS: Patients will be seen in the Operating Room and Echo Lab, Shands.

MEETING PLACE AND TIME: ~0700-1700 daily, Shands OR, 2nd Floor

LENGTH: 2-4 weeks
ENROLLMENT LIMIT: 1 maximum
OFFERED: Periods 2-10
CREDIT OFFERED: 100% of 2-4 weeks = 2-4 credits BASIC OR CLINICAL SCIENCE: Clinical
