“The majority of the homeless I have worked with have been pleasant. Many of them have a sense of humor; they have stories. Many of them have had real successes at other points in their life and the common denominator being that many of them some how got involved in the cycle of addiction. Others have mental health issues that cause them to lose their jobs and lose their families. I have yet to meet a homeless person, with the exception of maybe one or two people out of the hundreds of veterans I have worked with, that doesn’t have some redeeming human quality that makes them a person that you would want to help.”
