In the old days, medications were pretty benign. They were either some kind of tonic or another that, quite frankly, probably didn't do much either way, good or bad. Many of them were laxative in nature, and just to keep the bowels moving was, in those days, felt to be just what the doctor ordered.
But today medications are much more potent and, consequently, are much more prone to actually causing problems rather than relieving problems. And that ranges anywhere from over-the-counter drugs to prescribed medications to herbal and other types of dietary supplements.
And, therefore, the purpose of this short presentation is to review or just give an overview of some of the problems that people can get into when they take medications unwisely.
