Strength in the Elderly -- The Good News!

And there is further good news. People of almost any age can increase their strength -- two to threefold -- in a relatively short period of time, with appropriate training.

In one report in the Journal of Applied Physiology, a group of men in their 7th and 8th decades of life doubled their knee extension strength and tripled their knee flexion strength by participating in a weight training program three times a week, for just 3 months.
