Screening the Elderly for Colorectal Cancer -- Double-Contrast Barium Enema (DCBE)

The use of double-contrast barium enema (DCBE) for routine screening has not been widely studied.

In the 1980s, it was believed by many to be a more desirable alternative to colonoscopy, considering its lower risk of bowel perforation and similar ability to detect larger, more potentially malignant polyps.
