Early Evaluation of Patients with Chest Pain -- Radionuclide/Stress Testing

A stress test using a radionuclide is done to identify flow limiting coronary artery stenoses.

In the absence of flow limiting coronary artery stenoses, the radionuclide study will be normal. For example a patient with coronary artery spasm in which the spasm is relieved by nitroglycerin, exercise or adenosine thallium will be normal.
