The second vaccination I will cover is the pneumococcal vaccine, also called Pneumovax.

The pneumococcal vaccine contains antigens from 23 of the 83 serotypes of the Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria, more commonly called the pneumococcus.

These 23 serotypes cause 85 to 90% of the invasive pneumococcal infections in this country.
