When we talk about religion or spiritual connection, we talk in terms of the African-American elderly practicing their religious beliefs through a variety of settings.

Basically the protestant sects are the most popular. Therefore, you will find that a lot of the African-Americans in this area, the Southern area, are either Baptist, Methodist, or Episcopalian, or other protestant religions. If they are of other denominations, such as Catholic or Muslims, they are probably smaller in number in the southern region.
