And I say this because if you were to ask an African-American elder why they were making the sounds, the chances are they would not know.

Until I researched it and made it a part of my storytelling, I didn't know either. But, I'm so happy to know that it does exist, and I think in order to show respect, listening and trying to find out what the client is saying is very important.
